When Clifford passed a few years ago, I had to get a new dog. (Clifford was my service dog, and I've talked about him in many a posts) My new puppy came a few months after Clifford's passing and our concern was how would the new dog get along with our cats. Took a couple of weeks but now they are all right as rain. This morning when I woke up I looked to see my new service dog, Zach asleep with Radio curled up together. Sweetest thing ever. :)
Many years ago my dog and cat both had litters at the same time. I had puppies and kittens with their eyes still closed. I passed a kitten over the puppies. No reaction. Then I took a puppy and passed it over the box of kittens. Wow! Never saw so much hissing and spitting!

I believe that raising dogs and cats together makes them both get along. It's worked for me since then. But that one litter of kittens did not like puppies.Â
