Memories were shared, many tears were shed - and yet there was laughter, too - as friends, family and the community came together Sunday to celebrate the life of Kathi Goertzen.
Family, friends and co-workers gathered on Sunday to remember and celebrate the life of Kathi Goertzen.
Washington State University announced Friday that it will be naming a building at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication in honor of KOMO 4 News anchor Kathi Goertzen.
I don’t know that any of us at KOMO can even begin to express how much you have meant to us in the last several days. Kathi’s death struck us to our core. Our hearts have been breaking.
She was the definition of grace.  I'm not a celeb watcher- nor much TV, but  she was so easy to like- so real & intelligent.  Every news cast she did left us feeling as if we'd been sitting across from a coffee table from her  - lol! I guess we were.  I will miss her being part of my Seattle as she always has been.

I remember watching her do this report. I was attending GRCC that fall. WOW
Channel 4 news was always my favorite. They covered the story about Michael Leeland which was very personal for me so I was always loyal to Dan and Kathi. I was lucky enough to be home sick the day the wall fell... spent my day with Kathi!
