An artist reception for Looking into Light will be held April 4 at Seattle City Hall from 4 to 6 p.m. Photographer Dan Lamont will share stories and audio recordings of homeless families in Washington state.

Looking into Light is a photography exhibit that documents family homelessness across the country. It's on display now in the Seattle City Hall lobby gallery and Anne Focke Gallery (located on the L-2 level of City Hall).

Dan Lamont has covered issues of social concern since the late 1970s. His photos have appeared regularly in Time, Life, Newsweek, The New York Times, Smithsonian magazine, Audubon magazine, U.S. News & World Report and many other publications. He began covering family homelessness in Washington as a 2010 fellow in the Seattle University Journalism Fellowships on Family Homelessness program supported by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
