Find Nirvana (and fill your gut) at the Tacoma Buddhist Temple bazaar

Leave the King County bubble (no, really… it’s OK, Seattle residents) and make your way down to Tacoma for the Tacoma Buddhist Temple food and craft bazaar. You won’t be sorry.

The temple will serve up rice curry, udon noodles and other fall favorites at the annual bazaar on Nov. 4. Besides rice curry and udon noodles, the menu includes sushi, teriyaki chicken, chow mein, beef kabobs and two kinds of sushi. Save room for pie, mochi (sweet rice) ice cream and other desserts. Bring home cookies, cakes and mochi (sweet rice) pastries from the bake sale or find fresh produce at the vegetable booth.

Visitors can also browse through a sale of original sumi-e ink paintings and pottery by local artists, and find Japanese-themed items at the rummage and craft sale. The variety of food and crafts are reason enough to venture outside the bubble.
