Sample the Northwest spirit

The Northwest is known for its rain, wine and coffee addiction. But, the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) wants to highlight the regions tasty beers and libations, too.
Take a break from ComiCon this weekend, and mosey over to the Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival at Fremont Studios. The event will offer locals a unique beer, scotch, wine and whiskey tasting experience with more than 80 libations to sample.
Tickets to the festival cost $30 ($25 in advance) and includes tokens to sample beer including some of the first microbrews of the season, and spring release wine from boutique Washington wineries. Guests also have the option to purchase full bottles of select import beers inside the event. And for those stoked about the spirits, sample flights of single malt scotches and whiskies of Washington will be available for purchase.
The festival will feature “Spirit Samplers,” which include a choice of six sample-sized tastes of single malt Scotches. Guests can also sample the best Washington whiskies from local distilleries.
