Last call for free trees
Seattle reLeaf's 2012 “Trees for Neighborhoods” program has been extended through Oct. 21. The program still has several varieties available for free to Seattle residents including western red cedar and fernleaf beech.
Trees for Neighborhoods provides up to four trees per household to plant in residential yards. In addition to free trees, participants in the program receive free watering bags, training on proper planting and care of trees, and ongoing tree care support.
Street tree applications will be due Oct. 21.
I would like to see a lot of trees go to reforest and re-plant trees for the burned out areas of Eastern Washington  I have many one through 6 year old Douglas Firs, Western Red Cedars, a few Walnuts that can't stay where they are.  Could we do this?  I think it would be a wonderful contribution!
