A board game bonanza with GeekGirlCon and Dragonflight

A board game bonanza with GeekGirlCon and Dragonflight

Dust off those board games, polish your favorite pawns and brush up on your card shuffling skills. GeekGirlCon and Dragonflight have teamed up host a board game extravanganza Jan. 15 at AFK Tavern in Everett.

This free event is all ages until 11 p.m. and is open to skill levels.

Since 1980, Dragonflight Conventions have been a mainstay of the northwest convention scene and game community, and naturally make fitting partners for the folks at GeekGirlCon.

"We wanted to help expose (Dragonfly) to our followers and to people who like board games," GeekGirlCon Special Events Director Kelly Clark said.

Participants will have the opportunity to sample some of Dragonflght's newest games and dabble in old favorites. Games will be provided by the hosts, but guests can also bring along their own to play.

For the most part, gamers can expect the event to be a low-key affair with awesome board games, with awesome people, in an awesome venue, Clark added.

"AFK is one of the nerd destinations in the northend," Clark's pal, and the Con's Design Manager and Vice President Tammy Vince-Cruz added.
