Hop to it: Egg hunts around Seattle

Easter egg hunts are cropping up in Neighborhoods around western Washington next month. Here’s a list of a few events in your neighborhood:

March 30: Teen Flashlight Egg Hunt
8:30 p.m.
Don’t miss out on this annual ‘eggstravaganza’ where teens hunt with their flashlights for hidden eggs with prizes inside. Prizes include gift cards, movie tickets, candy, movies, and more! All you need is a flashlight, something to collect prizes in. Arrive at the Tukwila Community Center lobby by 8:30 p.m. to participate. $5/person. For grades 6 – 10.

March 31: Easter Social
1-3 p.m.
Come to the Macy’s Courtyard for arts and crafts, face painting, prizes, treats and lots of spring time fun!

March 31: PCC Easter Extravaganza in Redmond and West Seattle
8 a.m.
Spend the morning getting crafty with your kids. Guess the number of jelly beans and take a photo with the Easter Bunny. Receive a treat from PCC and enter to win a surprise! Free for children 8 and younger.

March 31: PCC Egg Scramble in Edmonds and Issaquah
9 a.m.
Bring your own basket and camera to hunt for prize-filled eggs and to snap a photo with the Easter Bunny. After the egg hunt, receive a treat from PCC and enter to win a surprise! Free for children 8 and younger.

April 1: The Little Farm at Windwater
noon–3 p.m.
Come enjoy fun at The Little Farm. Pet the animals, see the baby chicks, play the games and hunt for Easter Eggs filled with candy and other goodies. Once again there will be a Golden Egg. Are you ready? The egg hunt will be at 1:30 pm. sharp.

April 7: Redmond Eggstravaganza
9- 11 a.m.
Hop on over to Redmond’s favorite annual Egg Hunt! Enjoy face painting, arts and crafts, and Mr. Bunny photos. The egg hunt is at 10 a.m. sharp.

April 7: Bunny Bounce at Woodland Park Zoo
9:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Hop, skip and jump to the 11th annual Bunny Bounce at Woodland Park Zoo. Fun for the whole family including egg hunts for ages 1-8 years, crafts, bunny encounters, and eggs-citing zoo programs thoughout the day. All activities are free with zoo admission and free for zoo members.

April 7: Edmonds Egg Hunt
10 a.m.
Bring a nonperishable food donation for the food bank and your basket. Kids hunt while parents take pictures!
AGES/TIME: Ages 1 and younger, Lower South Lawn 10 a.m./ Ages 4-10 Playfield 10 a.m./ Ages 2-3 Playground 10:15 a.m.

April 7: Barnes & Noble Easter Egg Hunt – Federal Way
10:30 a.m.–noon
This year, the annual Easter Egg Hunt will have three separate age groups. Each age group will also have Storytime and get to meet the Easter Bunny. 10:30 a.m. for age group 3 and younger; 11 a.m. for age group 4 to 6; 11:30 a.m. for age group 7 to 10.

April 7: Easter Egg Scramble
10:30 a.m.
Head to the Woodmark Hotel for the second annual Easter Egg Scramble. Little ones will enjoy hunting for Easter treats, and complimentary coffee and hot chocolate will be available for parents and participants. All that hunting make you hungry? The Beach Cafe will be serving up breakfast, so make reservations! BYOB (bring your own basket). Register for the scramble online.

April 7: Snohomish Easter Parade
11 a.m.
You’re invited to join in the fun at the only Easter Parade in Washington State! The “Easter Bunny” will be leading the parade and welcoming spring! Enter the Easter Bonnet Contest, (no age limit and pets are welcome). Sign Up is located at First Street and Avenue A beginning at 10:00am on April 7, and judging starts immediately following the parade at that location. There will be no Easter Egg Hunt prior to the Parade.

April 7: West Seattle Community Egg Hunt and Fun Run
11:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
It’s a festival including a 1K fun run and a musical performance by West Seattle-based kindie-rock superstar Caspar Babypants. $5/person admission.

April 7: Springtime Card Craft
4–6 p.m.
Encourage your girl to celebrate spring by making and decorating a fancy flower card and matching envelope. She’ll use stickers and pretty paper to make her card “bloom,” then add a fun message on the inside. Free and open to the public. For girls ages 8 and older.

April 7: Spring Eggs-travaganza!
5 p.m.
A free egg hunt for kids ages 6 and under, and a toddler hunt for kids ages 1 -3. Following is a Flashlight Egg Hunt at 8:30pm for kids ages 7-10.

April 7: Country Village Shops in Bothell
11 a.m.–3 p.m.
Come visit the Easter Bunny while he hops around Country Village with candy filled Easter eggs for children from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Join him throughout the day for fun and games, story time, and a special craft project. And don’t miss the hotly contested merchants’ egg decorating contest. The rules are simple: the merchants must use a real egg and it must represent their business. The eggs will be on display at the Village – don’t forget to cast a vote for your favorite.

April 8: Family Easter Egg Hunt and Hop
1-3 p.m.
Egg Hunting (hundreds of plastic eggs will be hidden in the arenas and inflatables for the kids to find!); 1:20-3 p.m. Open Jump; 3 p.m. Redeem your eggs for Easter candy afterwards! Cost is just $7 per child and $5 for siblings (includes tax). As always, parents and crawlers are free! p.s. Please bring a soft sack or bag to collect the eggs (no baskets please).
