The Space Needle is turning 50, so lets party.

The folks at Seattle Center are hosting a free birthday bash on Sept. 8 in honor of the historic Seattle landmark.

The family-friendly party will feature live music, food, free monorail rides for kids and free admission to EMP for visitors 16 and younger.

Teatro ZinZanni will offer backstage tours and visitors can try their hand at a few circus skills.

There will also be opportunities to meet local sports and entertainment VIPs.
