Shut down the street because it’s time to party Aug. 7

The annual National Night Out Against Crime is less than one week away, and that means it’s time to sign your neighborhood up for a block party.
During Night Out, which is organized by the Seattle Police Department, neighbors can register their block party online and shut down pretty much any non-arterial street for free.
According to SPD, it’s a chance for neighbors to get together, hang out and talk about public safety. (It’s also a chance to eat delicious barbecue, thanks to my block’s Night Out organizers.)
So far, no one has added their Fremont Night Out party to SPD’s Night Out map. You have until next Tuesday to register and start inviting neighbors.
