SEATTLE - At least two people were killed, another suffered life-threatening injuries and two more were seriously injured in a fiery crash Sunday in Lake City.

Police responded to the scene, at 110th Street and Lake City Way, at about 4 p.m., where they found an SUV had collided violently with a small car.

Officers said at least two people were killed in the small car - and possibly more - but they haven't been able to check the back seat yet.

All three people in the SUV were injured. A father, who was driving, suffered life-threatening injuries. His 10-year-old daughter and a family friend who were riding with him in the back seat sustained serious injuries.

Witnesses told KOMO News that the SUV hit the small car with such force that it sounded like an explosion from blocks away.

The impact pushed the small car forward for a city block.

Police are investigating speed and other possible causes for the deadly crash.

This is a developing story. Updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
