A bizarre peek at tomorrow's technology

A bizarre peek at tomorrow's technology
Available later this year for $120, this dancing and singing mouse has a built-in MP3 player.
Imagine, if you will, a high-tech flea market.

Tell the driver behind you what you really think of his tailgating.

Now walk down the neatly arranged aisles of the International Expo at the Consumer Electronics Show and keep handy the expression, "I didn't know they could do that."

You'll be saying it often.

Always wanted a solar-powered backpack?  Looking for a line of kid-proof digital cameras? Does your desk need a dancing pig or a singing mouse? (Really? Mine too!)

A lifeline to Western buyers for many Asia technology makers, the Expo features hundreds of booths from companies you and I have never heard of. Each company is eager to tell you why their latest product is the perfect component for your next big innovation

I couldn't help but thinking if I were looking for a startup idea - this would be the perfect place to start.

How about a Micro SD WiFi card: a tiny penny-sized cards that slide into many mobile phones - with included wireless networking.  An SD memory card for your digital camera with integrated GPS receiver?

It's all here waiting to be discovered and may even become a part of the products we talk about at next year's show.
