SULTAN - A 46-year-old Sultan woman and her current boyfriend have been arrested in connection with the death of the woman's former boyfriend, a 49-year-old Sultan man.
The woman and her current boyfriend, a 30-year-old Gold Bar resident, were arrested early Friday morning and booked into Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder. The woman reported finding her ex-boyfriend dead in his bed on June 26. Detectives determined that he had died of homicidal violence, said Snohomish County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover. Detectives learned the woman and the 49-year-old victim had lived together in her house, in the 12800 block of 311th Ave. SE, as boyfriend and girlfriend for about three years before breaking up a few months ago. The victim refused to move out, even when the woman got a new boyfriend and he stayed over at the house. Detectives believe the 30-year-old boyfriend carried out the homicide with the knowledge of his girlfriend. The names of the suspects and victim have not been released, nor has the victim's exact cause of death. The death was reported about 6 a.m. June 26 when the woman told police she came home that morning to find the man dead in the house. Sultan police asked the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the death. The woman’s elderly mother also lives at the house. She was not injured. |
