Motorcyclist killed in Lake Stevens crash

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. -- A man was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck on Tuesday, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Trooper Keith Leary said a pickup truck headed south on 127th Drive NE made an illegal left turn onto State Route 92. The move caused a motorcycle headed west on the roadway to slam into the side of the truck around 6:40 p.m.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene. His name has not been released.

The driver of the pickup, a 62-year-old Snohomish man, was not injured.

All lanes of SR 92 were shut down in both directions at 127th Drive NE for several hours after the crash, but were reopen by 9:20 p.m.
