TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A judge has ruled that an 11-year-old Tacoma boy who made national headlines by twice talking his way through security at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport can go home if he stays out of trouble.
Pierce County Superior Court Judge Frank Cuthbertson made the ruling Monday in the case of Semaj Booker, who has been in juvenile detention since he was arrested for investigation of residential burglary on July 5.
He is charged with third-degree burglary and lying to police, but may not go to trial if a hearing Thursday determines he does not understand the difference between right and wrong.
