KINGSTON - Detectives are investigating a suspicious death in rural Kitsap County after deputies discovered a decomposed body inside a home.

Kitsap County Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Scott Wilson said deputies went to the home around midnight Wednesday after neighbors called to report they hadn't seen the occupant for several days.

On entering the home, in the 27000 block of Resource Ridge Avenue, they found the body and called detectives. The body was in a state of decomposition, but is believed to be an adult male.

Detectives said they are treating it as a suspicious death.

The Kitsap County Coroner's Office has removed the body from the scene, and will perform an autopsy Friday.

Cause of the death and the victim's identity will be released after they can be established.

Meanwhile, detectives are searching for other members of the family.
