TUKWILA, Wash. -- Dozens of tow trucks lined the streets of Tukwila to honor a father and son killed in a floatplane accident last week.
Mark Storer, the owner of Airport and Burien Towing, and his youngest son Brian were trying to take off from Nahwatzel Lake in Mason County when they crashed.
Hundreds filled the Church by the Side of the Road to honor the two Thursday at a memorial service complete with an honor guard.
Pastor Dennis Sawyer described Mark as an adventurous man who had a passion for life. He devoted 20 years to his towing company and loved to collect vintage tow trucks so much, he outbid Jay Leno for one on eBay.
“Jay wanted to buy the tow truck but Mark said: ‘Sorry, the bidding is closed’ and refused to negotiate,” said Sawyer.
Brian Storer was the youngest of three and the proud father of 2-year-old Sam and 1-year-old Toby. Brother-in-law Jon Moss described him as a daredevil.
"He wiped out once and totaled his bike in Vashon Island. But that surely didn't stop him. He soon bought another bike from the widow of a previous owner who died in a motorcycle accident,” said Moss, adding that Brian later totaled that same bike himself.
In addition to his two sons, Brian leaves behind his wife of three years. Mark leaves behind his wife of 31 years, his surviving son and daughter.
