Guilty verdict for man in murder-for-hire shooting of step father
SEATTLE -- A jury has found 20-year-old John Ogden guilty in a murder-for-hire shooting of his step father.

Prosecutors argued Ogden and his mother, Velma Ogden-Whitehead, hired one of Ogden's friends to kill Ron Whitehead for his estate and insurance.

The 61-year-old Boeing employee was shot in March of 2005 near SeaTac on the way to work in what appeared to be a carjacking.

Velma Ogden-Whitehead was sentenced in June to 22 years in prison.

Wilson Sayachack, the man accused of hiding in Whitehead's trunk and shooting him to death at an intersection near the Sea-Tac Airport, is still awaiting trial.

Ogden faces more than 30 years in prison when he is sentenced.
