Help sought in fatal hit-and-run
State Patrol Trooper Keith Leary said Duane Lyon was struck on Memorial Highway near Avon-Allen Road about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
The driver of the pickup truck did not stop, and Lyon, a father of three and a grandfather of two, died at a hospital on Monday.
"I can't imagine what his children are going through with the loss of their dad," said his brother, Scott Lyon.
Investigators believe the hit-and-run vehicle is a 1980s or 1990s Chevrolet pickup truck. Detectives released photos of a rear-view mirror found at the scene that is believed to have come from the fleeing truck.
"The concern is that it could happen to someone else who could got through the loss of a family member," Scott said.
The victim's family is hoping the driver or at least witnesses will come forward and help ease the pain of loss.
"I think it would bring closure," Scott said. "I was brought up to stand up for your mistakes and responsibilities, and step forward."
Anyone with information is asked to call the state patrol.
