Missing man found dead
SEATTLE -- A body found in a crashed car is that of of a 79-year-old disabled Shoreline man who has been missing for more than two weeks, family members said.

King County Sheriff spokesman John Urquhart said the car belonging to Hilmer Jager was found crashed in a ravine near Seattle's Discovery Park.

It was unclear how long the car had been there.

"The whole top was smashed in... and it was completely upside down," said Sam Bahta, who discovered the wreck while walking in the park. "I looked on the other side of the car that we hadn't seen yet and I definitely saw a person in there, so I was like in two seconds up the hill and we called police."

Jager, who suffers from dementia, was reported missing Aug. 22 when he drove away from his Shoreline home without his heart medications.

Family members were at the scene Monday when the car was pulled from the ravine and offered thanks to police and members of the public who helped search for Jager.
