SEATTLE -- Talk about a new twist on dating.

There's no beating around the bush on a new Web site that promises to help find members a sugar daddy or a sugar mommy. It's a place online where money rules and sex is often a part of the equation.

On SeekingArrangement.com, people are expected to be perfectly blunt. Prospective sugar babies let potential sugar daddies know right up front how much they expect to get -- anywhere from $2,000 to upwards of $20,000 per month.

"A sugar daddy member told me this is the best fishing hole he's ever fished at," said Brandon Wade, the creator of the site.

Wade got the idea for the site several years ago while working at Microsoft in Seattle. He was single at the time and making a very good living. But he had trouble meeting women.

So he came up with this unique proposition: "I'm willing to give her a good time, pamper her. I'll willing to pay for the date and maybe some of her bills as well,"

And what happens next is between those two people.

"I don't know. It seems pretty cool. IF that's what they both want, good for them," said Robin Wakefield.

"I would expect that other young women would know what they're getting themselves into," said Melissa Pelham.

The site says it brokers "mutually beneficial relationships," and not only between rich men and younger women, but between rich women and younger men as well.

"Well, it sounds like prostitution to me. It really does," said Pepper Schwartz, sociology professor at the University of Washington.

Schwartz says the Web site is bad news, especially for women.

"I think the same thing is happening online that's happening in a bar. Somebody is willing to give you money for whatever reason -- 'if you will have dinner with me, wink, wink. In other words, I'm expecting more, and you know it,"' she said.

Wade firmly admits nearly half of the registered sugar daddies are married and actively looking for a mistress or a fling.

"These guys are really looking for somebody else on the side to really take care of the other aspects of their needs, which is the intimacy," Wade said, "somebody they can care about, have that relationship that they otherwise do not have at home."

He's apparently found a niche. Wade claims there are 300,000 members worldwide right now, 5,000 of whom are sugar daddies in the Seattle area.
