Two teens found shot in Federal Way
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Two teens were found shot near a small park in a quiet Federal Way neighborhood on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Police and medics were called to the scene, in the 2800 block of South 340th Place, at about 2:35 p.m.
There they found a 17-year-old male and a 19-year-old male, each with gunshot wounds, at Alderdale Park in Federal Way, officials said. Both were rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The 19-year-old reportedly was shot in the head and was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, officers said.
The 17-year-old has less serious, non-life-threatening injuries. He also is being treated at Harborview.
Police are looking for two suspects. The first is a dark-skinned black man with a slim build, about 5 feet 9 inches tall , wearing a white shirt, red ball cap and blue jeans. The second is a light-skinned black man, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing a Michael Jordan Bulls jersey, red undershirt and black shorts.
There was no word on their conditions or identities of the victims.
Officer Raymond Bunk said the shooting may have taken place during a drug deal.
The double shootings frightened some area residents.
"It's really scary, and they need to find some solution to solve the problem," said Tim Williams, who lives in the neighborhood.
The scene of the shootings remained roped off by yellow police tape. A black Dodge station wagon is at the scene with the driver's side door standing open, but police would not say whether it belonged to the suspects or victims. Detectives combed through the car for evidence.
