More than $15,000 in counterfeit money found along I-90
NORTH BEND, Wash. -- A firefighter made an interesting discovery along I-90 early Thursday morning -- thousands of dollars in cash. Only one caveat -- the money is counterfeit.
Trooper Curt Boyle with the Washington State Patrol says $15,470 in counterfeit bills was discovered just lying on the ground in the eastbound lanes of I-90 near the SR-18 interchange just before 9 a.m.
The firefighter turned it over to the State Patrol.
Boyle says it's not clear where the money came from, but is warning anyone who might have found some of the cash or sees other cash in the area to not pick it up or try to spend it.
