CENTRALIA, Wash. -- Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a credit union Friday morning after forcing tellers into the vault.

Officers were dispatched to the Twinstar Credit Union at 1320 S. Gold St. in Centralia at about 6:45 a.m., after receiving a robbery alarm and a 911 call.

Tellers at the credit union said the robber, who was wearing a ski mask, confronted them and forced them to the vault in a takeover-type robbery. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled, leaving the female tellers restrained in the vault.

"In this case, fear and intimidation was, I think, the deciding factor," said Sgt. Kurt Reichert.

Police were able to track the suspect a short distance in the snow, then the tracks disappeared where, police believe, he got into a car.

The robber is described as a man about six feet tall with blue eyes.

Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the getaway car.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the Centralia Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
