SEATTLE -- Jason Mesnick says he showed up for this season of "The Bachelor," knowing the third time would be the charm, and he was right.

First came his divorce, then heartbreak from DeAnna Pappas on "The Bachelorette." Now the 32-year-old single dad of a 3-year-old boy can't wipe the smile off of his face when he talks about his secret, special someone, who is also his fiance.

Mesnick can't spill the beans until the season's over, but it's not for his fans' lack of trying. Wherever he goes, fans flood him with questions.

"Give us a little tidbit on what she's like, a hint," one fan nudged.

Even one husband wanted proof of his Mesnick meeting.

"My wife doesn't believe that you are actually here. Can I get my picture with you?" the man asked.

A picture for the man's wife? Sure. But Mesnick dropped no hints about his hunt for a bride.

"I can't say anything about the girls," he said.

On Monday as millions tuned in to watch "The Bachelor," he himself was curious to see what made the cut.

"I watch it when everyone else watches it," said Mesnick.

But unlike everyone else, Mesnick, of course, knows how this season's story ends and with whom.

"I have found the one. I have found the one. I am completely in love," he said.

In his hometown of Kirkland, Wash., Mesnick was beaming as he broke the news of his engagement.

"Obviously we're in the honeymoon stage still. I mean, it's completely new and everything is really exciting," he said.

"But we've got to get to a place where, you know, essentially we've been together for a couple of months, right? And we've got to get to a place where things are more normal."

But for now, "normal" is on hold. His true love is a top secret until the season ends. And until then, the rest of us have to wonder which of the 25 divinely-draped and coiffed women he chose.

Mesnick, who calls himself a quick judge of character, says he had an inkling from the very beginning when the dozens of eyes were all fixated on him after one great expectation after another stepped out of a limo and into his life.

"Its like 'how me?' Like me, really, like everybody is excited to see me. It's just insanely surreal," he said.

Being on a dating show may seem like a rather unnatural backdrop for falling in love naturally, but Mesnick says not so.

"When the camera is rolling, I don't even notice it," he said. "I think its hard for some people. I remember going through it last year with the guys. They would freeze up; they could not be themselves if they were with her or with us."

It's hard to forget last season of "The Bachelorette" when Pappas let the single father get down on one knee, then turned him down.

"I went through some real heartache when I went through my divorce, and that helped me through what I went through with Deanna. It really helped me," Mesnick said.

Pappas ended up breaking up with the man she chose -- a snowboarder named Jesse Csincsak. Mesnick hasn't spoken to Pappas, and says there's no reason to.

Thousands of e-mails and hand-written letters flooded in after Deanna chose Jesse over Mesnick.

"I remember some little girl wrote a message for her mom, the whole Sleepless in Seattle thing," he said.

So what about all those sleepless, single women in Seattle drooling over the handsome single dad?

"I thought, 'there's nothing wrong with Seattle girls, but if they're going to do a search across the whole country for me...'" he said. "I think that Seattle women are just chill; they're relaxed, easy to get to know, maybe less high maintenance -- I think that's a good thing! That's a good thing."

For now, Mesnick is focusing on keeping quiet, hoping he will be the the one Bachelor who actually marries the woman who makes it to the final rose ceremony.

"I can't say too much!" he said.
