HAMILTON, Wash. - A 73-year-old Concrete, Wash., man is facing a possible charge of vehicular homicide after he crashed a minivan into a highway guardrail Saturday evening, killing his passenger.
Washington State Patrol troopers said the wreck happened at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday on Highway 20 near Hamilton Cemetery Road. Alcohol or drugs are considered a factor in the crash. Troopers said Lawrence N. Gamey, 73, of Concrete was heading east on the highway in a 1994 Dodge Caravan when he veered off the pavement and slammed into a guardrail. The impact killed his passenger, a 56-year-old Marblemount, Wash., man. He was declared dead at the scene. Gamey was injured, and was transported to Skagit Valley Hospital. After treatment he was arrested and booked into the county jail for investigation of vehicular homicide. |
