Police: Main players of Wal-Mart shooting arrested
"We have more people to interview. The investigation continues. There may be further arrests, but at this time we believe we have all the main players in custody," said police spokesperson Heidi Hoffman.
Police arrested a 20-year-old man in a home near the corner of South 58th Street and South Houson Streets in Tacoma around 3 p.m. Wednesday, Hoffman said. That man was identified as Marshawn Turpin on the jail roster.
The arrest came several hours after police, acting on a tip, arrested a 37-year-old man in connection with the shooting during a traffic stop at a Motel 6 in Fife. The man is listed on the jail log as Calvin Finley. He is believed to be the one who gunned down the guard.
A woman and child were in the car. The woman was questioned by police, then released.
Two others, 41-year-old Odies Walker and 42-year-old Tonie Williams-Irby, were arrested Tuesday night and booked into the Pierce County Jail. Williams-Irby, an employee of Wal-Mart, was inside the store at the time of the shooting. Walker was the getaway driver, Huffman said.
Hoffman described the four as conspiring to rob the guard.
"We believe that the Wal-Mart employee gave information to the other people involved as to the comings and goings of that Loomis armored truck," she said. "I can't say who was the mastermind, we haven't gotten that far yet, but there were at least these four involved in planning it together."
Investigators said Walker and Finley are believed to be related.

Hoffman said surveillance video at the store makes it clear that the robbery was planned and that the shooter made no attempt to take the money without violence.
"They just walked up and executed him," Hoffman said. "It was very violent, very cold-blooded."
A single bullet killed Husted and wounded a male customer holding a baby outside a bank branch located inside the Wal-Mart.
"As he was coming out of the bank, he was shot in the head," Hoffman said.
The injured customer, Wilbert Pine, was hit by the same bullet that killed Husted. Pine, who still has a bullet lodged in his shoulder, said he didn't know what he and his 15-month-old son had been caught in the middle of.
"So in that moment, I just put my body into my son and put my body around him," he said. "I'd never been shot, and nowadays, you never know what's going to happen anymore. And I was just praying that he wouldn't go on a rampage on us."
The two male robbers grabbed a money bag from the guard and drove off after the shooting. Their stolen white getaway car was later found abandoned in Tacoma.

Husted, 39, was a 16-year veteran of Houston-based Loomis armored cars, company spokesman Pat Flaherty said.
The guard had been wearing a bulletproof vest, Flaherty said. Husted was a graduate of Tacoma's Lincoln High School. He was not married, but had recently gotten engaged.
"We're very distraught at the loss and at the senselessness of this killing," Flaherty said.
The male customer was hit in the shoulder while holding a child, Hoffman said. The child was uninjured and the man's injury was not life-threatening, she said. The customer, who was not identified, was treated at Tacoma General Hospital.
Hoffman declined to say how much money was taken, but said authorities had recovered about two-thirds of the amount.
"I'm not going to disclose the amount, but it certainly was not worth taking a man's life over," she said. "It's not worth what's happened here. No amount of money is worth it, but I can tell you, for the amount we believe was taken, this is horrific for that small amount of money."
At least seven different law enforcement agencies were working on the case, including the FBI, officials said.
In a statement, Wal-Mart officials said their thoughts and prayers were with those "victimized by this tragedy. We appreciate the quick response of local authorities, and we are working with them in their investigation."
Nearby Mount Tahoma High School was briefly locked down as a precaution.
