LONDON - A music video starring murdered British student Meredith Kercher was released by her family hours after they testified at the trial of Seattle student Amanda Knox, a British web site reports.

The Daily Mail Online reports that the video was shot just weeks before she was sexually assaulted and killed in Perugia, Italy.

The 21-year-old stars in the video for singer Kristian Leontiou's song "Some Say."

The Kercher family's lawyer, Francesco Maresca, revealed what few details he knew of the video but not why it had only just come to light, the Daily Mail reported.

Maresca said the video was made by a group of Meredith's friends sometime during 2007, and that he believes she knew the lead singer.

"The people on the video are friends of hers who were at Leeds University, and it is unreal to see her in the video and to know that a few months later she was murdered," Maresca said in an interview with the Daily Mail. Read the complete Daily Mail Online story »

In the opening sequence, Meredith is seen walking down a long flight of stairs dressed in black. She also makes several other appearances including a haunting scene where she walks through a set of doors and looks straight at the camera.

According to his official web site, Kristian Leontiou was born in London and is 25 years old. He has had one Top Ten hit and the single that Meredith features in the video for reached gold with 150,000 sales.

 Amanda Knox
Knox, 21, and Knox's former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, 25, are both on trial, accused of killing her during what began as a sex game.

Kercher was found in a pool of blood in the apartment she shared with Knox. Prosecutors said Sollecito was holding her by the shoulders from behind while Knox touched her with the point of a knife.

The two, jailed since November 2007, are charged with murder and sexual assault. If convicted, they could face life imprisonment, Italy's stiffest punishment.

Kercher's mother said Saturday in court that she will never get over her daughter's brutal death.

"It was unbelievable, unreal, in many ways it still is," Arline Kercher said of her daughter's death, as she sighed deeply and fought back tears. "I still look for her."

"It's not just the death, but the nature of it, the brutality of it, the violence and the great sorrow it's brought everyone," the 63-year-old woman said during her testimony in a Perugia courtroom.

"It was such a shock," she said. "We'll never get over it."

Knox is scheduled to testify as the trial resumes next week.

Arline Kercher and the victim's sister, Stephanie, described the victim as a conscientious, studious woman who was excited to go to Italy and who worked hard at arranging her trip under the Erasmus student exchange program. They described how she loved the city's chocolate festival and how she rejoiced at her progress in the Italian language.

"She was so excited," Stephanie Kercher said. "She was really looking forward to her time here."
