Reward grows for info in dog's shooting death
NORTH BEND, Wash. -- With a new offer Friday from the Seattle Humane Society, the total reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of a dog near North Bend has grown to $15,500.
Rewards had already been offered by Pasado's Safe Haven and the Humane Society of the United States.
Investigators asked Thursday for the public's help locating whoever is responsible for shooting the 4-year-old Rottweiler and leaving the paralyzed animal to die off a forest service road.
The animal was wearing a pinch collar and was tied to a log about near what officials described as a "popular unofficial recreational shooting area."
Animal control officers took the animal to a vet where the dog underwent surgery and needed continuous care for four days before being euthanized.
A necropsy performed last week showed that the dog had been shot several times.
The other reward money announced Thursday is being offered by Pasado's Safe Haven
A $12,500 reward is being offered for tips leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is asked to call 206-296-3939.
