Diver drowns off Redondo Beach

DES MOINES, Wash. - A 60-year-old Tukwila man died Sunday afternoon while diving in waters off Redondo Beach, police said.
Officers and medics responded to a report of a diver in distress at about 4:30 p.m. When they arrived, they learned that the diver and his diving partner were in about 80 feet of water at the time of the accident. The surviving partner noticed the man in distress and got another diver to help. They were able to get the victim to the surface and bring him on shore, but he died at the scene, Des Moines police said. The man's name was not immediately available. |
