Suspended driver injures 8-year-old boy
ISSAQUAH - An 8-year-old boy is recovering from injuries and a 31-year-old driver is facing charges of driving with a suspended license after she lost control of her car on a very wet I-90 Tuesday afternoon.

Trooper Jeff Merrill with the Washington State Patrol says the woman was driving in heavy rain westbound on I-90 in Issaquah when she lost control of her Honda Accord on the wet pavement. The car began to hydroplane and then spun around, striking a concrete barrier on the right shoulder.

Two passengers were in the car -- a 29-year-old woman and her 8-year-old son. The boy suffered injuries from the seatbelt, but no one else in the car was injured.

Troopers say the driver's license was suspended and had been arrested three times before for driving with a suspended license. She's now facing new charges.
