Hot weather = cold, hard cash for entrepreneurial Everett man
EVERETT -- Hot weather means cold hard cash for an entrepreneurial Everett man.

David Orlando is driving across the state to buy air conditioners, then bringing them back and selling them for double at his yard sale.

"I drove over to Spokane (Thursday) morning and bought whatever I could over there," Orlando said.

On that trip, he spent almost $3,000 on 18 units, and spent several hundred more Tuesday night on an A/C run to Wenatchee.

But he is quickly making his money back. He's sold 14 so far and had 10 left as of early Friday afternoon.

So if you don't mind paying double the price (about $300-350 depending on the size) to get an air conditioner now, swing by his yard sale this weekend at the 5600 block of Rockefeller Ave. in Everett.

And if he runs out, he plans on making another trip - this time to Idaho -- to stock up again. He says he's called every store he can think of in Washington and all the way to Salem, Oregon and couldn't find them any closer.
