Pair sought in 17 Seattle-area bank robberies
SEATTLE -- The FBI is asking for your help in identifying two men suspected of robbing several Seattle-area banks over the summer.
Agents believe the two have hit 17 banks since June 1, and if that is the case, it would make them the most prolific bank robbers in the Puget Sound area since 2006.
Most of the banks hit were in Seattle, but banks in Kent, Auburn and Burien have been hit -- even a few credit union branches located inside grocery stores were robbed.
Their most recent robberies were a Bank of America in Renton Thursday, followed four hours later by a robbery at the Group Health Credit Union on Seattle's Capitol Hill.
Agents say there are indications the men could be carrying handguns concealed in their clothing, though a note slipped to a teller is the prime method in telling them a robbery is under way.
Only once have the men been seen together; most of the time they apparently work separately.
The FBI says the men may be associated with an older model white Caprice that looks like an old police sedan. The men should be considered armed and dangerous.
If you see them or know who they are, call the Seattle FBI office at 206-622-0460.
