Alleged accomplice arrested in Camano Island crime spree
CAMANO ISLAND - An alleged burglary accomplice wanted by Island County Sheriff's deputies was arrested Monday night after he turned himself into deputies.
Island County Sheriff Mark Brown says 17-year-old Harley Davidson Ironwing was taken into custody at 11:30 p.m. at his Everett home.
Deputies say Ironwing was working with 15-year-old Colton Harris Moore in a crime spree across Camano Island that spanned several months. Detectives say the two broke into several homes, stealing TVs, computers, cameras, credit cards, and more.
Moore was arrested last week and has been charged with more than a dozen counts of burglary and theft.
Brown says Ironwing's mother called deputies just after 7 p.m. Monday after seeing her son's photo on television news broadcasts. She told deputies she had gone into Harley's room to speak with him, but found he had run off.
His mother called deputies back just before 11 o'clock and told them her son was home and wanted to speak with them. Ironwing told deputies he wanted to turn himself in.
The teenager was booked into the Island County Juvenile Detention Center in Coupeville on investigation of residential burglary, and third degree theft. His first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday at 1:15 p.m.
