The Grayland-area beach where the woman's body was found.
GRAYLAND, Wash. - Investigators have identified the body of woman that washed ashore in Grays Harbor County, but there's still no sign of her companion or the boat they were on.
Teri Dascher, 47, of Kingston, was found on the beach near Grayland on Friday morning. Her companion, 51-year-old John Phillip Stapp of Seattle remains missing.
Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott says the pair were last seen aboard the Connie B, a 25-foot sailboat which left from King County and had spent the last few weeks in Westport being repaired.
According to friends and family of the two, the boat left sometime around Oct. 16, headed for the South Pacific.
A beachcomber reported spotting the body around 9 a.m. Friday, said Undersheriff Rick Scott.
Investigators believe Dascher's body had been in the water for only a short time - less than 24 hours - before it was discovered.
She appeared to have been the victim of a boating mishap as other boating items washed ashore along with her body, Scott said.
