Heavy rain prompts flood warnings
SNOHOMISH COUNTY - The Department of Emergency Management has activated its flood information line in response to river flood warnings issued by the National Weather Service Saturday morning, effective until Sunday evening.

A flood warning indicates flooding is imminent or occurring. The mountain areas saw 2 to 5 inches of rain overnight Friday, and is expected to see another 1 to 2 inches Saturday night before the rain and wind taper off by early Sunday morning.

Flood Warnings were in effect Saturday evening for the Stillaguamish, Skykomish, Tolt, Snoqualmie, Skokomish and Skagit rivers.

Snohomish County residents who live along rivers can call the DEM flood line for more information. The flood information line number for the Snohomish, Snoqualmie and Skykomish Rivers is 425-388-3653. For the Stillaguamish River, the number is 425-388-3702. Residents can also access updated flood information on the department's Web site.

Residents are urged to proactively monitor the weather situation over the weekend, and those who live in flood-prone areas to be ready to act quickly if flooding occurs.
