Woman arrested in Kirkland stabbing

KIRKLAND, Wash. - Police here have arrested a woman in connection to the stabbing of another woman inside a parking garage on Friday morning.

Police were dispatched to the scene, at 11250 Kirkland Way, at about 10:40 a.m. after the victim was able to call 911 on her cell phone.

When medics arrived, the 28-year-old victim was still conscious and was able to provide some information to officers, Kirkland police said.

She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she is listed in critical condition.

The assailant had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, but police said a 50-year-old woman turned herself in after she checked herself into Valley Regional Medical Center to be treated for unspecified wounds.

Kirkland police said the circumstances surrounding the assault are still under investigation, and they're looking for a vehicle connected to the case.

The sought car is a green 2000 Kia Sportage with license plate 949 VWX. Investigators believe the car may be in South Seattle area. Anyone with information on the car's whereabouts is urged to contact Kirkland police immediately.
