KIRKLAND, Wash. -- A woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend's ex-girlfriend 18 times in parking garage earlier this month has a prior murder conviction in 1997 for a remarkably similar incident, investigators said Monday.

Patricia L. Crowl, 50, is currently being held on a charge of first-degree attempted murder for the alleged November 13 attack.

The 28-year-old victim called 911 after she was stabbed about 10:40 a.m., and officers found her in the garage at 11250 Kirkland Way.

"Help me, help me," she told the dispatcher, according to court documents, adding that she had been "stabbed everywhere."

She was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was listed in critical condition when she arrived but has since healed enough to be released.

The attacker ran off before officers arrived, but police said Crowl turned herself in after she checked herself into Valley Regional Medical Center to be treated for unspecified wounds.

According to court documents, the victim told detectives from her hospital bed that Crowl first tried to lure her the day before by sending text messages posing as her boyfriend. The victim showed up but her boyfriend didn't.

Instead, Crowl appeared and tried to get the victim to open her car door. The woman drove away and escaped. She later told investigators she had never seen Crowl before that day.

The next day, prosecutors said, the victim was lured to the parking garage thinking she was once again meeting her boyfriend. When she arrived, she received another text saying that her boyfriend was there but his dog got off his leash and he was looking in a grassy area next to the parking lot.

She didn't see him and started walking back to her car. She says that's when Crowl ran at her with a knife, stabbing her 18 times, according to court documents.

Prosecutors say Crowl has a prior conviction for second-degree murder in 1997. In that case, she pleaded guilty to beating her boyfriend's girlfriend to death.

She admitted to bludgeoning and choking a pregnant woman named Shawn Beatrice Wallace with a wrench. Wallace had been dating Crowl's boyfriend at the time. Crowl hid Wallace's body under her house before dumping it in a South Seattle ravine. She was released from prison in 2006.

Crowl is being held on $3 million bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 2.
