Wow, it's been a dry month...no, really!

SEATTLE - Here's one for the "You've got to be kidding me" department: We are about to finish this month as the fifth-driest April in Sea-Tac's history.
What? Judging from the amount of e-mails we've had this month from people tired of the gray and damp and ready for sun, this news must be akin to hearing the Easter Bunny just became the new CEO at Microsoft.
"Will it ever be sunny again?" wrote one long-time Seattle resident.
"This spring time weather [stinks]," wrote another viewer. "Is there any reason for us to think we will ever dry out? Should I sell my boat now or will it actually get used this year?"
But believe it or not, we have indeed been dry this month. Sea-Tac has just had 0.69" of rain this month, only behind 1956 (0.33"), 1977 (0.55") and 1951/2004 (0.65") for driest recorded.
(Editor's note, in the original article, we stated it was to be the third-driest month at 0.60". Ironically, some rain arrived early the night of the 30th and dropped 0.09" of rain just before midnight at Sea-Tac Airport, knocking April down to the fifth-driest.)
Here's some stats that might make you believe your memory: It has rained at some point on 22 out of 30 days this month.
But on 11 days, it didn't rain enough to measure -- at least at the airport. There have been several days where it's rained plenty in spots around western Washington, just the rain somehow missed the airport.
To wit: Forks had nearly 9" of rain this month -- the 15th *wettest* April on record there.
Just goes to show how variable the weather can be around western Washington.
The forecast for this week is calling for more rain, so odds are that May will safely not be in the dry month category... unless the rain happens to miss Sea-Tac Airport. If so, maybe we won't have to go to Arizona to dodge the rain?
