'Notorious' accused child molester from Wash. captured
Federal law enforcement officers have captured a Washington State man who they described as "one of the world's most notorious accused child molesters."

Kenneth John Freeman was arrested Tuesday at the Hong Kong Airport after being located by a team of investigators from the U.S. Marshals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and others.

Freeman, who once worked as a reserve sheriff's deputy in Benton County, Wash., is accused of molesting his young daughter and posting the videos online. Investigators said the videos were widely distributed on child pornography web sites.

Freeman was on the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted list, Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Most Wanted List, and was featured on the television program "America's Most Wanted" in December.

"This complex, international case was a challenge for the Marshals, ICE, and our law enforcement partners," said U.S. Marshals Director John F. Clark in a statement. "But fugitives charged with crimes against children are our top priority. Freeman now will be returned to the United States to face the justice he deserves."

Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Julie L. Myers said Freeman will be returned to the U.S. for trial.

Freeman, 44, jumped bail after he was arrested in Richland, Wash. for investigation first-degree child rape in 2005. He had been on the run ever since.

Officials said Freeman fought hard when confronted at the Airport in Hong Kong and injured four officers during the arrest.

In addition to the rape accusation, he is also expected to face charges for flight to avoid prosecution and production of child pornography.

Freeman's daughter is now a teenager who advocates against child sexual abuse, and has appeared on TV to tell her story.
