Girl dies after shooting at Burien apartment complex
BURIEN, Wash. - A teenage girl has died after she was shot at an apartment complex Thursday night, and a 16-year-old-boy is suspected of shooting her and then turning the gun on himself, authorities said.

The boy remains hospitalized at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

No other suspects are being sought in the shootings, said Sgt. John Urquhart of the King County Sheriff's Office.

King County sheriff's deputies responded to the scene, an apartment complex at 12445 Ambaum Boulevard SW, at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

Deputies said the two gunshot victims were found in separate apartments.

Officials initially said they were seeking a gunman who fled the scene of the shootings. But detectives now say the 16-year-old boy is suspected of shooting the girl, then likely shot himself.

The name and age of the girl who died were not immediately available.

The boy and girl were both rushed to Harborview Medical Center, where the girl later died of her gunshot wounds, said a spokesperson for the King County Medical Examiner.

Detectives have not had the opportunity to interview the boy. He is under police guard at the hospital while the investigation continues, Urquhart said.
