Neighbor: Missing woman's apartment like 'a war zone'
Officials say the case of Sherry Harlan is suspicious, but they have not indicated if anyone is being sought in connection with her disappearance.
Harlan was reported missing Tuesday evening after she missed several days of work.
Her co-workers at the Lynnwood JCPenney store went to her apartment to check on her before calling police. She wasn't home, but a neighbor said they made a frightening discovery inside.
"Torn up carpet. Torn up linoleum. Bleach everywhere," said Schuyler Thorpe. "It's like the whole place was turned into a war zone. Like it was done in a real hurry."
Thorpe said he and his wife saw a strange man hanging around the apartment about the time investigators think Harlan disappeared.

Investigators cordoned off the apartment overnight and, after obtaining a search warrant, detectives went in and began collecting evidence.
A State Patrol crime lab team has been at the scene all day, but officials are not saying what they have found in Harlan's unit at the Cedar Creek Apartments at 11615 Highway 99.
Harlan had been living at the apartment complex for several months, and her father said she moved there after her boyfriend was hauled off to jail.
Snohomish County Sheriff spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said anyone with information about Harlan should call police.
Harlan's car, a 1989 blue-grey Nissan Sentra with Washington license 928-RVN, is also missing.
