8 injured in T-bone crash near White Center

8 injured in T-bone crash near White Center
SEATTLE - Eight people were injured in a two-car collision at the entrance to Lakewood Park near the White Center neighborhood around 4 p.m. on Friday, according to King County fire officials.

Lt. Will Spruill said a red Honda Civic was travelling west on 108th when it swerved into the eastbound lanes and T-boned a Volvo that was turning into the park entrance at Southwest 108th Street and Sixth Avenue Southwest.

Seven of the eight injured people were taken to the hospital. Six of them had minor injuries to the head, neck and back.

The most seriously injured was a passenger who was riding in the back seat of the Volvo at the time. That man, who is in his 20s, has taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

The victims' names are not known and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Southwest 108th Street at 8th Avenue Southwest is closed to all traffic while the collision is being investigated. It is expected to remain closed for several hours.
