Boy seriously hurt at UW clinic dies
SEATTLE -- The 3-year-old boy who was severely injured Thursday at the University of Washington Medical Center's Roosevelt Clinic has died.
Noah B. Bishop died of multiple causes, according to the King County Medical Examiner's Office. The causes listed were cerebral and cerebellar laceration and contusion, subarachnoid hemorrhage - bleeding between brain and surrounding tissues, brain stem hemorrhage and multiple skull fractures.
The manner of death was ruled an accident.
The boy was injured while at the clinic with his parent, who had a therapy session on Thursday morning.
Some time during the visit, the boy suffered a life-threatening injury and was quickly rushed to Harborview Medical Center. His time of death was not given.
UW Medical Center spokeswoman Susan Gregg-Hanson declined to describe the circumstances surrounding the accident.
"Our thoughts are with the family, and per their request we are not able to share any more information at this time," Gregg-Hanson said in a prepared statement.
The spokeswoman added a thorough investigation into the incident has been launched.
