Search on for beer thieves who knocked down elderly woman
Police say the three men ran full-speed out of the Safeway store in downtown Everett last month, not even slowing down for Phyllis Friske.
"And he came and hit me, and knocked my cart over and sprawled on top of me," said 74-year-old Friske. "Why didn't he stop and say oh my gosh, what did I do to this poor lady? And stop and look at me. But he obviously he didn't. He was so concentrating on getting out and getting away."
Detectives just released surveillance video captured inside the store. The footage shows the three men taking off through the front door, beer in hand.
Friske said she saw the apparent getaway car parked and waiting at the entrance, but didn't think anything of it until she woke up in the ambulance.
Knocked so hard to the ground, Friske suffered bruises up and down her back side and a gash in her head so big police thought she'd been run over by a car. She was taken to the hospital to get staples in her head.
"I would say that beer is not that important; people are. At this age, people are the most important things in my life," said Friske.
The three suspects are described as two white men and a black man, all in their late teens or early 20s. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a white four-door Ford Taurus with a dent in the right rear quarter panel.
