Schram: Where's the dad gum leadership?
Let's tie up the week with a few quick quips on some odds and ends that are still dangling.
Was that leadership we all heard coming from the lips of Governor Christine Gregoire?
The governor was chastising lawmakers for their lack of progress during this week's special session and boldly told them, "Dad gum it, get it done!"
Wow, talk about getting all fired up.
Way to go governor, stepping up to that leadership podium.
That's the way to publicly chasten those errant legislators who can't seem to use their special session time adroitly, dad gum it.
Speaking of the special session: That one hand you hear clapping is applause for those four dozen lawmakers who've decided to give up their per diem allowance during the overtime period they created.
But if they think that's going to save their butts come the next election, well, they should think again.
And this just in: Seattle City Light is so committed to the idea of energy efficiency that the utility has started a program to give away compact fluorescent light bulbs.
But wait, there's more.
The utility is also offering to have its workers come out and install the bulbs for you.
The question is: How many city light workers does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Have a great weekend, everyone.
