Fugitive murder suspect captured in Ohio
SEATTLE -- Police have arrested the man charged in the murder of Seattle hip-hop artist Max Gasoi last November.
Tyrese B. Harrison was taken into custody in Youngstown, Ohio on Friday after detectives received a tip he may be staying at an apartment there.
After Harrison's arrest Friday morning, police searched the apartment and found two 9mm handguns. Investigators have not determined whether either of the weapons was used in Gasoi's shooting death.
Investigators said Harrison shot Gasoi during a drug deal on Nov. 29, then immediately fled the area.
Gasoi, 21, was found shot on the street in the city's First Hill neighborhood less than a block from St. James Cathedral. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Friends and family said Gasoi was a local hip-hop artist who had started his own label, So Hood Records, and had received his business license only a few days ago.
Harrison will be returned to Seattle, where he will face a second-degree murder charge.
