EVERETT, Wash. -- Police here spent the night searching a house where a man was found dead Tuesday evening.

A neighbor spotted the man's body behind a house at 22 Madison Street about 6:30 p.m.

"There appeared to be some trauma to the body," police Lt. Robert Goetz said. "We are treating this as a homicide until we determine otherwise."

The home where the body was found is vacant and owned by a bank.

"This is a mystery so far," police Lt. Robert Goetz said.

The dead man is in his mid 20s to mid 30s, police said, but he has not been identified.

Search warrant documents posted at the house Wednesday morning said investigators seized cash, clothing and a computer data card, but it was not clear if any of the items were connected to the man's death.
