EVERETT, Wash. -- A Snohomish County sheriff's motorcycle deputy was injured in an accident during a traffic stop Thursday morning.

A car heading southbound on Evergreen Way crossed several lanes of traffic and struck the deputy near 112th Ave. SW, said Aaron Snell with Everett Police.

The deputy, a 10-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office, was taken to Everett's Providence Hospital but while the extent of his injuries is not known, Snell said it didn't appear his injuries were life-threatening. The driver of the car was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

Everett police and the Sheriff's Office are investigating the crash.
