Woman in critical condition after being shot in the back
SEATTLE -- A 25-year-old woman is fighting for her life after being shot in the back by her boyfriend on Thursday night.

The woman was shot just before 11 p.m. while inside a car parked behind a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant on Aurora Avenue North and North 85th Street, according to the Seattle Fire Department.

Det. Jeff Kappel with Seattle police said the woman was sitting in the front passenger seat in the car with several friends, including her boyfriend. The boyfriend, who was sitting directly behind her, was "manipulating a gun" when it accidentally went off, hitting the woman.

The woman was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Police have two men in custody, though it's unclear if any arrests have been made.
